Our Founder's Story

Yard-trained. Filmmaker by craft. Boats for life.

Tristen Bailey has spent more than 13 years in BC boatyards as a yacht painter and brightwork specialist, and holds his Marine Service Technician journeyman's ticket from Quadrant Marine Institute. In that time, he watched skilled crews and incredible waterfront businesses rely on phone photos and outdated marketing to represent some of the most valuable assets people own. After the birth of his first son in 2024, he began thinking about the future of the industry his kids would grow up around, and Ascension Media was born. Together with his wife Lauren, he's bringing cinematic media and modern systems to the marine industry, helping build an industry the next generation will be proud to work in, run, and enjoy one day.
